A brief history of the members of Zambalita

Once upon a time there was a troupe called Ya Sahlem, which was based in Redwood City. Bashira and Na'ila (below) and Shahina (above) were members of this troupe for 6 years. Radya joined towards the end of Ya Sahlem's history.

Sudeep and Ariel, both with varied histories in other dance troupes joined Ya Sahlem just as the troupe was undergoing a new directorship. Shauna and Judia (below) and Tiura are from Half Moon Bay and had been dancing together for many years when they became part of this troupe, which was now called Zambalita

Adrianna (at present on sabbatical) joined the troupe in 2006 after debuting at the Little India restaurant in Redwood City. A year later in 2007, Chera danced with Zambalita for one performance and the troupe unanimously asked her to stay. Socorro is the newest member, joining in 2008.

Shauna
A talented musician, Shauna has gone on to playing piano for the Scottish Fiddlers and the Peat Fire Flame. Shauna sometimes dances with Zambalita as a soloist.

Judia
Judia has turned her talents towards promoting more than dancing, but you still may see her at times with Zambalita.
